Healing the Soul

"Heal the Soul first
the healing of the body and mind will follow"
I just read that on twitter...How do you heal a broken soul? Where do broken hearts go? I do not presume to know the answers but I ll try......
The main desire of the heart is to love and be loved in return...
Anytime we put our hearts out and we get hurt it, breaks our souls.....Healing the soul is not something that can be done in a day..It takes time..Its about learning to love yourself..inspite of the rejection, the hurt and the pain....Its about learning to trust all over again..
Healing is a slow process....you have to be ready to let go of all the pain..
You have to be ready to forgive...Forgiveness is liberating... it frees the soul...
Live in the moment..there is nothing quite as exhilarating...
Healing the soul is a rejuvenation process..like the rebirth of a soul....
In the process, there are times when the pain will stab hard and you 'll feel like you re tearing down all over again...
Keep the faith and hold on tight....the pain will eventuallly go..but the scars will remain.....to remind you  to look before you love and to crawl before you fall...
In time you 'll rise above the pain and realise that you are a complete person and that the greatest happiness you 'll ever know is found in one place......you!

The gift of friendship

A friend is like a canvas
Where your paint all your feelings on
Your thoughts, your faults
Your tears, your fears
A friend is like your favourite movie
You never get tired of laughing at the same jokes
A friend is like the break of dawn
Inspiring you to aim higher…
A friend is like a vessel of armour
Always ready to defend you
A friend is like your fondest memory
You never want to let go
A friend is like your conscience
She  ‘ll always tell you the truth
A friend is rarer than Diamonds
And she is found in the most unlikely places……

Fighting fear

I am a soldier
in my armour girded for battle
I fight my fears all day long
Fear! you cannot control me
I have risen above you
Like the eastern sun
I rise again at the break  of dawn
as fleeting as the days of our lives
In love I find strength
So deeply have I loved
and fear has no hold on me

Finding home

The most important thing life has taught me so far is that it’s the little things that matter the most…the simple things we forget to value….
Imagine a world without the sun, life without music, a person without laughter, a story without love, a song without lyrics,…
We forget to remember that we were first all children…when the burdens of adulthood comes we lose our maps, and forget where we were and where we re going..
It is in these moments that we should be grateful for the simplest things and do the simplest things for others… like showing others you care and being there for them (yeah that counts..)
When the road seems all confusing and you feel lost and alone.. Don’t be afraid it only means that its time for you to touch base.. Go back to the place you were before it all became so muddled up.. Be grateful for the beauty of life…another sunset, the air we breathe, the gift of music, of love, of laughter and of life…and surely my friend, you will find home again

Make me green again

I am the pride of Africa,
I am the hills of Plateau,
I am the rocks of Abeokuta,
The waterfalls of Ogbomosho,
The islands of Lagos,
The coal of Enugu,
Out of my bellies flow rivers of black gold
In solitude my mind wanders
Wanders far into the past
I used to be green
Full of promises and full of hope
Today I sit still while my children bleed me to death
Consumed in deep hatred, they kill one another
And they say
Come let us dance
Let us celebrate our mother
Yet I feel the hunger of orphans,
The tears of widows,
And I weep, and weep again..
They fight and say that they are not one
Torn by the webs of religion and tribe..
What religion? What tribe?
Is  not love and peace the universal language?
Corruption reigns supreme
And the Law is fast asleep…
Waking only momentarily from its deep slumber
And staggering like a one-eyed man…
I used to be green..
Now I m but a shadow of my past
When men were men
When leaders were leaders…
Nostalgia feels my bones
I ache for the return of those times
Now the only green I see is
The algae of unemployment
Where is the pride in education?
Where is the dignity in labour?
Money has become their god,
And insecurity is the new song,
I sit still and wail…in silent screams..
Make me green again!
Make me green again!!
